“The history of Match TV is connected with hockey. The broadcast of the match “Dynamo” – “Spartak” went out on the very first day of the broadcast” – KHL President Morozov

The President of the Kontinental Hockey League, Alexey Morozov, said that a strong and trusting relationship was initially established between Match TV and the KHL, and also called the channel the main window into the world of big-time sports.

On November 1, the Match TV channel turns 10 years old.

— The presence of a federal sports television channel in Russia is a national treasure. For viewers across the country – from large cities to the most remote corners – such a channel is the main window into the world of big-time sports, a source of emotions, pride and national identity.

In the context of the KHL, this is an opportunity for Match TV to show fans the main hockey events in the country. Fonbet KHL Championship matches are confrontations, intense competition and emotions that captivate and arouse interest in hockey among future champions and their fans.

We highly value our relationship. Match TV is a reliable partner for us. I remember well that the history of the channel is connected with hockey: the broadcast of the Dynamo – Spartak match was released on the very first day of the Match TV broadcast. It turned out to be a brilliant match that ended in a series of (post-match) shots. This is a symbolic and important fact for us, which speaks of an initially strong and trusting relationship.

We see great potential in the development of hockey-related content. To attract a new, especially youth, audience, I would like to see more KHL hockey players and coaches as heroes of programs that reveal them as bright personalities, stars, and not just as athletes.

We are also confident that each broadcast on Match TV has all the potential to become an independent television event. We have a highly competitive league in which any team can beat any team, and this gives rise to the very unpredictability that can and should be enhanced through new technical and creative solutions on air. We are open to joint experiments that will make watching the match even more spectacular and exciting for television viewers,” Morozov told Match TV.
