The fans of the New York team quickly turned their anger to mercy after the incredible goal of Artemy in the all-important playoff match.
Russian forward Artemy Panarin has been defining the New York Rangers in the NHL in recent years. The hockey player is constantly among the top scorers in the league. However, the striker started the playoff series against Pittsburgh badly.
Due to the low performance, Khlebushek became the object of attacks by haters who actively reminded him of his contract.
But how Panarin beautifully washed the spiteful critics.
“Panarin is really disgusting”
The starting round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for Artemy was not going well. The player left to fight for the championship after an injury. In the first six meetings, he averaged one point each. That’s a pretty good number, but not for a player who makes more than $11 million a season.
Not in the best way began for Khlebushushka and the decisive seventh confrontation against Pittsburgh. The Russian allowed many unnecessary losses, and also retired twice, since this did not lead to goals conceded.
All this only upset the fans of the Blueshirts more, who scribbled a lot of angry comments on social networks against the Russian hockey player.
– Panarin is simply disgusting. 96 points for the season and disappears in the most important game. $11.5 million is a catastrophic contract for years to come,” says @BattleOfHudson.
– Few people talk about how terrible Panarin’s contract is, – expressed dissatisfaction with @KailerMemeamoto
“I hate to be the grumpy old man who points out that Artemy Panarin has an $81.5 million contract but he really needs to do more for the Rangers in this game,” @jmanasso wrote before the decider.
“Panarin has to show what he gets $11 million for in the final period,” user @LambEnjoyer expressed his concern about Artemy’s game.
“Panarin should be disqualified”
Criticism of Panarin literally evaporated after his puck in overtime. Artemy, despite the heavy traffic, risked shooting from a decent distance. The palisade of the players did not prevent the rubber projectile from finding a small gap and crossing the goal line. The goal brought the “Rangers” to the second round, and the haters began to instantly change their shoes and praise the Russian.
– I love Panarin and it doesn’t matter how he performed before. Artemy scored when the Rangers really needed it,” wrote a user with the nickname @RightHandRanger.
– I lost consciousness when I screamed after Panarin’s goal. My eyes are still cloudy,” @politicaljersh described his joy.
“Maybe Panarin was not the best player in terms of goals or points, but the Rangers would have lost without Artemy,” said the contribution of the Russian @Wildfyaa.
— This throw was unreal. I still can’t believe that Panarin scored through the players and almost without gaps, – he admired the goal of the Russian striker @z_rude.
– Panarin was very bad in this series and especially terrible today, until he scored. He threw a lot, but every throw, except for the winning one, became easy prey for the opposing goalkeeper. I said several times that he should stop throwing, it’s good that I’m just a fan, – the user @BossWooso gave a brief description of Artemy’s game in recent matches.
“I’m sorry I doubted you, Khlebushek! — posted by Rangers fan @ChrisKeeper29
“I still don’t understand how Panarin scored this puck,” he admired the skill of the Russian hockey player @LarryBubbs.
– Guys, I think that Panarin should be disqualified for the elimination of the Penguins (and Crosby), don’t you agree? Merciless! – a fan of the New York team with the nickname @NYR_fan4life taunted Pittsburgh fans harshly.
– I hope everyone has a good night, except for Artemy Panarin. Damn him! – Penguins fan @goalietouchdown did not stand aside.
The Panarin puck inspired the Rangers fans so much that they even arranged a roll call with the number of views of the Russian goal.
“I watched Panarin’s goal 20 times and still don’t understand how and where he flew into the net,” wrote a user with the nickname @KnicksMemes.
“I watched Panarin’s goal about 800 times and I still don’t know how it was scored,” @RadioBren told.
“I watched this Panarin goal at least 1000 times tonight, and the number is only increasing,” said Jesse Finver, producer of the official NHL website, on his social media page.
Panarin’s incredible goal extended the season for the New York team by at least four games. Let’s see how long the revived love of the blueshirts’ windy fans for the Russian striker will last.
