Vityaz head coach Vyacheslav Butsaev shared his emotions after the 6th match of the Stanley Cup final series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Colorado Avalanche.
Colorado won the Stanley Cup after beating Tampa 4-2 in the series.
The strongest has won. The final episode is the highlight of the entire season. In the sixth match, we can say that we saw an equal game, we saw that Tampa spent a lot of physical strength in previous matches, they lacked freshness, although the team played with the support of its fans. Tampa wanted to continue this series, but the phenomenal game of Colorado did not allow it. The Avalanche deservedly won, they still looked more powerful than the opponent.
Probably, it is necessary to separately congratulate Valery Nichushkin, another Russian hockey player, whose name will be inscribed on the Stanley Cup.
What are your overall impressions of the final series?
– The series was interesting. The first match was held in a stubborn struggle, in the second we saw the complete dominance of Colorado, the third – the reverse side of the medal, Tampa already had the full advantage. There was a special moment in the fourth fight – after this result, it was already harder for Tampa to pull out this series, since the score became 3-1. But Tampa should be given credit, because they then had a great game in Colorado, when it seemed that everything was drawing to a close. The Avalanche wanted to finish this thriller, but they gave us one more match. The script for this episode is very interesting. I think that the audience was not disappointed in this hockey, – RB Sport quotes Butsaev.

Storm hockey club announced its decision to suspend participation in the Ukrainian Championship. The Odessa team had not come to the Krizhinka match before.
At the same time, Storm denied that the issue was related to financial problems and expressed distrust of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation.
Statement from HC Storm
“Due to systematic violation of the principles of equality and justice in competitions, Shtor hockey club expressed its distrust in the leadership of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation and decided to suspend its participation in the Ukrainian Championship.”
There was already a situation this season when Krizhinka suspended its participation in the championship due to referee problems.

Junior World Hockey Championship. Great comeback from the USA, 9 goals and hat-trick from Canada
Another day of play in the elite league of the World Junior Hockey Championship has ended.
The USA team beat Slovakia with a score of 6:5, with big problems. The host team of the tournament lost 0:2 and 1:3 but managed to come back and win.
Forward Tomas Hrenko scored a double for the Slovaks, scoring three goals in the last match. And the Americans have a double thank you to James Hagens.
USA and Sweden are leaders in the group with 9 points.
In the other group, Canada beat Denmark 9-1, while forward Gavin McKenna is expected to score a hat-trick and become number 1 in the 2026 draft.
In another match, the Czech Republic defeated Finland 2:1 in overtime.
