The preliminary meeting of the Vsevolozhsk City Court in the case of hockey player Ivan Fedotov, suspected of evading conscription for military service, will be held on September 20, according to the website of the court.

The plaintiff is Fedotov, the defendant will be the draft commission of St. Petersburg. The goalkeeper disputes the decisions and actions (inaction) of public authorities, military authorities. The case will be considered solely by Judge Natalya Korableva.

In July, Fedotov was detained in St. Petersburg on suspicion of evading military service. At the military registration and enlistment office in St. Petersburg, he complained about the deterioration of his health, was sent to several medical institutions in St. Petersburg, and then taken to Severodvinsk. As it became known to Match TV, the 25-year-old goalkeeper will remain in the city in the training unit until the oath is taken. He is expected to take the oath on 13 August.

Fedotov’s lawyer Alexei Ponomarev said that the procedure for conscripting a player into the army was violated.

In the 2021/22 season, Fedotov won the Gagarin Cup with CSKA, in May he signed a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers NHL club.

Defending champion Florida beat Chicago 5-1 in NHL regular season play, capturing its sixth win in its last eight games.

The Panthers sit sixth in the Atlantic Division, four points behind the top 3.

Among other results, we note foreign player Ottawa’s unexpected victory over Vegas with a score of 7:1, Colorado’s 4:1 win over Toronto with a hat-trick from Brock Nelson, and Anaheim’s 4:3 win in overtime against Calgary.

Junior forward Beckett Sennekke had a hat trick for the Ducks, his first three-goal game in the NHL.

Anaheim is in the top 3 in its league and aims to return to the play-offs.

The Ukrainian hockey championship match between Sokol and Storm took place.
