The Ferstappen fox, Herr Leclerc, the Mexican and the problems of youth

The Ferstappen fox, Herr Leclerc, the Mexican and the problems of youth

The TOP 5 results from the Jeddah Grand Prix, the second F1 race for 2022. The Dutch fox, the gentleman and the unfortunate Perez.

Everything went well – if not for everyone… We had games for the win and for the lower places, but also a game without serious mistakes – accidents. Mick Schumacher’s ugly exit on Saturday has us concerned, is the truth about safety at the fastest street circuit and second-fastest race in the championship after Monza.

But let’s look at the TOP 5 conclusions of the Jeddah Grand Prix, the second F1 race for 2022.

1. The Dutch fox kept it to the end

We knew Red Bull was better prepared for the critical tire industry than Ferrari. The Austrian team in the stages had collected data with the middle eraser they would use in the race, unlike the Italians who didn’t catch up as the team drivers had minor accidents and their cars needed repairs.

So it seems that Max Ferstappen kept a high pace in the match so that he stays close to Charles Leclerc but without pushing him, waiting to launch his attack at the end. This was also the case in the last 9 laps after the virtual safety car.

The strategy of Max and his team paid off, although we have to note with an asterisk that in the last 2 laps there were yellow flags in the first sector of the track, which did not favor Monegasco. Anyway, we had a very nice fight!

2. Gentleman Leclerc is an example to follow

Very nice but also clean Battle! Rest assured it wouldn’t be if the final lap was between Ferstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Here we have to pay tribute to Leclerc, who fought honestly and “seduced” the otherwise warm-blooded Dutchman with the same driving logic.

The Scuderia driver really deserved the title of gentleman, as he congratulated Ferstappen on his victory over the radio immediately after crossing the finish line! And he continued his testimony in front of the podium saying that despite the disappointment he enjoyed a very strong and clean race. Leclerc teaches his teammates ethics – and more!

3. Ferrari, Red Bull and others

We knew that from Bahrain, but now it’s absolutely certain. Ferrari and Red Bull are on their own level and no other team on the grid seems able to match them at the moment.

The good thing about this sport is that the two top teams are very close, so this year’s championship should be exciting.

4. The Mexican would have won without the Italian bluff

Let me insist on what I thought before the game: that Sergio Perez could have won. The Red Bull Mexican won his first pole position in F1 at Jeddah and was comfortably in first place for the first part of the race without being particularly stressed by Leclerc, who was trailing behind.

However, he had the worst bad luck of the race because as soon as he changed the tires the safety car came out. It was basically Ferrari who bluffed Red Bull – and the engineers of the Austrian team “bite”! The Scuderia brought the engineers into the pit lane and hinted that it was imminent pit stop by Leclerc for the undercut. RBR’s immediate response was to call in Perez, but Ferrari soon withdrew their mechanics, leaving the Mexican to pit alone.

Given the speed of his car on the straights and the maturity Perez has shown lately, he could claim a second win of his career in Saudi Arabia.

5. youth problems

Just a second race with the brand new cars and we see that the mechanical issues are very different each time. At the previous Grand Prix, it was the two Red Bulls of Gasley and Alpha Tauri who retired through injury.

Yuki Tsunoda didn’t even start as Alpha Tauri failed to solve the problem while Ricciardo’s McLaren, Alonso’s Alpine and Botas’ Alfa Romeo lost heart on the same lap! One thing is certain: reliability will also play an important role in the hunt for victory in the next races.

PHOTOGRAPH. Two-time F1 champion wowed with 0,000 Christmas gift

Two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso added the new high-performance SUV Aston Martin DBX S to his car collection. The driver took delivery of the car, valued at more than $260,000, a few days before Christmas in Monte Carlo, where he was photographed next to the new product near the Aston Martin dealership in Monaco.

Powered by Mercedes’ 727 horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, the DBX S reaches 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The new SUV joins Alonso’s collection, which already includes the Aston Martin Valiant and Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR.

With 2026 rule changes approaching, Alonso and Aston Martin hope the new DBX S will signal the beginning of better times. The team’s new technical partnership with Honda and Adrian Newey’s experience pave the way for Aston Martin to challenge for top spot next season.

Lewis Hamilton reveals details of new F1 season preparation regime

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has admitted he has had to significantly change his daily training regime as he gets older to cope with the physical and mental demands of the World Championship. The 40-year-old Ferrari driver is preparing for his 20th season in F1 and is the second oldest driver on the grid after Fernando Alonso.

The Briton stated that his preparation is now much tighter than at the beginning of his career, with recovery playing a key role in maintaining a competitive level.

“The regime has changed, it has improved. I still love running. This morning I ran 6 to 8 miles. Then I took an ice bath. But above all, the first thing I do as soon as I get out of bed is stretch,” Hamilton said.

According to the pilot, in order not to gain excessive weight, he limits strength training and prefers pilates, yoga and interval training. At the same time, there are two elements that he does not reject under any circumstances.

“Ice baths are not an option. Before, I didn’t really think about recovery: I just trained and got on with my life. Now stretching and ice baths are things I force myself to do every day,” Hamilton emphasized.

The seven-time champion athlete attaches great importance to mental health as well as physical training. He admitted that breathing exercises, meditation and yoga helped him cope with the stress of the 24-stage season.

The Ferrari driver concluded: “An ice bath teaches you to control your breathing and fight the urge to give up. This helps me stay positive throughout the year.”

The American Dream by Alex Parow

2025 Alex Parow It’s almost perfect. You can’t ask for more from a Catalan pilot. It’s a perfect example of how success can go beyond F1. The Sant Antoni de Vilamajor native achieved his third successive IndyCar title and fourth title in five years.

He achieved this with an overwhelming advantage over others. Win 8 of the 17 races that make up the entire calendar. With five wins from the first six races, the season couldn’t have gotten off to a better start. Three others then arrived and he finished the year with five more podiums. In total he scored 711 points, 196 more than second place in the contest, Pato O’Ward.

He was two wins shy of the single-season wins record held by AJ Foyt from the 1964 season, and one of nine achieved by Mario Andretti, another great legend of the competition. However, yesHe became the third driver in history to win the most IndyCar titles. And he trails only Scott Dixon (5th) and AJ Foyt himself (7th). Additionally, he joins Ted Horn, Sébastien Bourdais and Dario Franchitti on the short list of drivers capable of winning a third straight race.

“It’s been round so far and I hope it stays that way and continues to improve. I think it’s getting better every year. After winning my first IndyCar title in 2021, I thought it was already round and complete, but it’s getting better every year, so I couldn’t be happier,” Palou assessed during a visit to the MD editorial office in early December.

500 miles is a bonus

At the end of a dream year, Palou I was able to win the legendary Indianapolis 500.a thorn that had stuck inside him since he came to the United States. Practically on American soil, winning this event is more important than the championship, and that was the only thing Alex lacked, the Catalan having yet to win on the oval. Fortunately, he managed to take it off his wishlist in May this year, giving it his all and reaching a milestone that no other Spaniard can boast of.

He is undoubtedly a real “sheriff” of Indy and a great reference in this field, which has already spread its fame throughout Spain and Europe thanks to the person of Palou who has achieved everything. Now all I have to do is continue to have fun and dream big.
