Former NASCAR driver dies at 39
American driver Michael Annett died at the age of 40, the press service of the NASCAR series reports.
“Michael was a respected athlete whose determination, professionalism and positive attitude were felt by all. Throughout his career he has represented our sport with the passion of a true racing driver. NASCAR expresses its condolences to Michael’s family and many friends, the statement said.
Annette’s cause of death has not been announced.
Annett competed in a total of 436 races across NASCAR’s three divisions and spent three years in the NASCAR Cup Series. He retired in 2021 due to a stress fracture in his leg.
