(Turin) Russian Andrey Rublev came from behind to defeat Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and reach the semi-finals of the ATP Finals on Friday.
Rublev triumphed in three sets of 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and reached the semifinals of the tournament for the first time in his career. He will be opposed to the Norwegian Casper Ruud, winner of the Green Group.
In the other semi-final, Serbian Novak Djokovic will face American Taylor Fritz, who earned his place after defeating Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5) and 6-2, the day before.
Djokovic, five-time champion of the event, will have to regain his strength quickly, after signing a grueling 6-3, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2) victory at the expense of Russian Daniil Medvedev. The duel lasted three hours and 10 minutes.

Djokovic, the eighth player in the world, is now 8-4 in career against Medvedev, the fifth player in the world.
The Serbian is looking to equal legendary Swiss Roger Federer’s record six titles. Djokovic hasn’t won this tournament since 2015.
Despite the quality of the show, this match had no impact on the classification of the Red Group. Djokovic, with a 3-0 record, was already guaranteed to advance to the semi-finals, while Medvedev, at 0-3, was certain to return home when the group stage concluded.
In the final game of the preliminary round, Rublev threw his racquet after losing a serve game early in the first set. He was, however, all smiles when Tsitsipas sent his return into the net to end the encounter.
