The Americans are champions in the United Cup
The USA defeated Italy 4-0 in the final, becoming the first team to win the newly formed United Cup, winning five times in the tournament and losing just two.
The USA became the first team to win the newly formed United Cup after beating Italy 4-0 in the final to take five victories in the tournament after losing just two games. One against the Czech Republic and the other against Great Britain.
In the final, the USA took the lead with Jessica Pegula easily defeating Martina Trevisan 6-4, 6-2, followed by Francis Tiafoe’s unbroken win over Lorenzo Muzzetti, who retired after the first set was completed with a shoulder injury.
The title for the American team was sealed by Taylor Fritz, who defeated Matteo Berretini in two tiebreaks 7-6(4), 7-6(6) to give his team the title. In the ensuing standard game, Madison Keys defeated Lucia Bronzetti 6-3, 6-2 to make it 4-0 for the USA.

Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.
Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.
Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.
Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.
Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.
