Australian Open: Djokovic advances to fourth round despite injury problem

Novak Djokovic won a 3-0 set against Dimitrov to advance to the fourth round of the Australian Open despite his apparent injury problem.

Despite his injury problem, Novak Djokovic overcame Grigor Dimitrov’s obstacle in three sets 7-6(7), 6-3, 6-4 after 3 hours qualification for the 4th round of the Australian Open.

Nole was clearly not at 100% as his left leg injury prevented him from playing the way he would have liked.

However, he still did what he had to do to seal his ticket to the last 16 where he will face Alex De Minor who eliminated Bonzi by the same score.

Essentially, Djokovic’s match with Dimitrov was decided in the first set. Nole broke in the first game of the game but the Bulgarian managed to stay alive by breaking back in the game where Noles served to close the set.

The two tennis players were eventually taken to the tie-break and there the legendary Serb was cooler, winning the set 7-6 (7).

The second set was completely controlled by Djokovic. The break he managed in game six was handed to Nole, who was 6-3 up 2-0.

In the third set we had successive breaks after only Djokovic held his serve once in the first six games. The Serb led 4:1, Dimitrov shortened to a break (4:3), but couldn’t do anything more.

With that, Novak Djokovic has advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open and seems capable of fighting as far as possible.

PHOTOGRAPH. Serena Williams may return to tennis at 44

According to media reports, Serena Williams is considering a sensational return to professional tennis after a four-year break.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion retired in 2022, avoiding the word “retirement” and saying only that he was “moving away” from the sport.

Her last match took place at the 2022 US Open, where she lost to Ajla Tomljanovic. Williams’ re-entry into the anti-doping pool last December fueled rumors of a comeback. Although Serena later denied her return, The Telegraph’s sources claim that the tennis community is not buying it and believes Serena can still compete at WTA level.

Williams will be eligible to return to Roland Garros this summer, including mixed doubles, with possible options at Wimbledon or the US Open. Her older sister Venus continues to perform at the age of 45, increasing interest in Serena’s possible return.

Former champion Jim Courier is confident that Williams will definitely be back on the field if injuries are not a problem; The only question is the format and tournament.
