The women played two tournaments last week. At the larger WTA 500 event in Abu Dhabi, Olympic champion Belinda Bencic won by knocking out Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk in the second round. In the final, the Swiss defeated Lyudmila Samsonova, who entered the top 15 for the first time in her career.

At the WTA 250 competition in Linz, Anastasia Potapova won, updating her personal success. Finalist Petra Martić is back in the top 30.

There was no change in the first ten.

Top 10 WTA Rankings

The best of the Ukrainians Angelina Kalinina lost two games in one week and fell two places, Katerina Bindl lost the same amount. Marta Kostyuk moved up three places, while Dayana Yastremskaya eliminated Lesya Tsurenko to return to the top 100. Daria Snigur lost a little, Katarina Zavatskaya continues to progress slowly. Anastasia Soboleva set a personal record.

The first racket of the world, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, broke Serbian Novak Djokovic’s record for the number of tiebreakers won in a row at Grand Slam tournaments, OptaAce reports on social networks.

On Saturday, Sabalenka beat Canada’s Victoria Mboko 6-1, 7-6 (7-1) to reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. Sabalenka won her 20th consecutive tiebreaker at Grand Slam tournaments and set a new record, surpassing Djokovic’s achievement (19).

“I’m upset now,” Djokovic responded to the record on social networks.

In the next round of competition, Sabalenka will meet with 18-year-old American Iva Jovic.
