“Do you think it’s okay?” Tennis star pissed off cheerleader’s behavior

An interesting way to spoil the athlete’s game.

At tennis tournaments, any attempts by fans to interfere with athletes are quickly stopped. Most often, employees who keep order during the meeting simply take out inadequate spectators. But there are situations when even experienced professionals can’t stand the nerves.

The day before, at the Masters in Cincinnati, the fourth racket of the world was enraged by a woman who pretended to be … a bee.

Attack of the bees before serving

The episode took place in the Masters second round match between Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and American Ben Shelton. The meeting went quietly until Tsitsipas began to be pestered by the buzzing of bees. At the same time, the sounds of insects appeared only when the Greek was preparing to serve. In response to extraneous interference, the athlete began to actively fencing with a racket, cutting the air with it. After that, it became clear that the sounds were not made by insects.

Then the athlete drew attention to the podium behind him and found that the buzzing was coming from there. At first, Tsitsipas did not personally deal with the audience, but approached the judge.

Behind me is a man imitating a bee. That buzz right before my serve. Do you think it’s okay? This is the first time in my career,” said Tsitsipas to a representative of the refereeing team.

The tennis player hoped that after his complaint the problem would be resolved. But the referee misinterpreted Tsitsipas’s request and thought that the athlete wanted to stop the match. The referee considered the problem of the Greek insignificant for a pause, so he sent the fourth racket of the world back to the position. The athlete decided to fully understand the situation and, instead of continuing the meeting, went to the audience.

“This is what you would expect to see in your area’s yard league”

Tsitsipas asked the fans who portrayed the bee, but no one wanted to admit to strange behavior. The spectator helped the athlete, who gently pointed a finger at a woman sitting as close to the court as possible. Finding the source of the buzzing, the Greek demanded that the girl be taken out of the podium. But she did not want to leave the meeting, and she apologized for her act. Everything was resolved peacefully.

A little later, the opponent of the Greek asked what happened on the other half of the court. The American thought that the fans were trying to piss Tsitsipas off by talking.

“No, they imitate a bee, they buzz bzzz,” Tsitsipas explained with a smile.

Tsitsipas managed to quickly forget this story and again concentrate on the game. As a result, the 25-year-old Greek reached the third round of the tournament, beating the American – 7:6 (7:3), 7:6 (7:2).

After the match, fans on social networks discussed the behavior of the woman for a long time.

“I know stadiums are pretty quiet, but that’s an impressively loud buzz from a lady if Stefanos could hear it from his seat,” writes bobdylansmoustache.

– She apologized only after she was found out – she does not believe in the sincerity of the OwlOfFortune woman.

“If I had this place, I would be so grateful that I would not make a single sound,” Stunning-Cod-2310 comments.

“The lady imitating a bee to distract Tsitsipas and the guy who ratted her out is what you would expect to see in your neighborhood league, not the ATP Masters 1000,” notes disc_jockey77

“I think she just said Tzzzzzzitzzzzzzzzipas,” jokes BmukinMagic.

Angelina Kalinina – Wang Xinyu. Prediction and announcement for the Australian Open match

They will face each other in the first round of the Australian Open on January 20 Angelina Kalinina (WTA 178) – Wang Xinyu (WTA 43).

The match is scheduled to start at 03.30 Kyiv time.

Sport.ua together with a betting partner bet announcing the upcoming fight!

Angelina Kalinina

The Ukrainian athlete was out of the top 100 last season and will be out of action for six months. In December, Kalinina managed to take the cup in Limoges – there was a good squad at the WTA 125 tournament.

The athlete tried to play in Adelaide, but immediately lost to Hungarian Bondar in qualifying with scores of 4:6, 6:7. The first big game of the season also had to start with the qualifying matches; Here they managed to beat Garland from Taiwan 7:5, 6:2, Koevermans from the Netherlands 7:6, 6:0 and in the final they beat Chwalinska from Poland 5:7, 6:2, 6:1.

A good game in qualifying clearly boosted Kalinina’s confidence; The Ukrainian athlete reached the third round at the Australian Open the most, and he should try to break his personal record.

Wang Xinyu

The Chinese athlete must be familiar to Ukrainian tennis fans because it was Wang who recently played in the final of the tournament in Auckland, where she lost to Elina Svitolina 3:6, 6:7. Although he could not win the title, the tennis player can definitely be satisfied with his performance, because he beat rivals such as American McNally – 2:6, 6:3, 7:5, Mexican Sarazua – 7:5, 6:4, British Jones – 6:4, 4:3, and Francesca withdrew. In the semi-final, a tough victory was achieved against Eala from the Philippines, 5:7, 7:5, 6:4.

There was also a tournament in Hobart, where the Chinese woman started with a 6:2, 6:3 victory over Australian Gibson, followed by a 1:6, 5:7 defeat by Poland’s Linette. Wang never got past the second round at the Australian majors.

To guess

Statistics show that the athletes have never played each other, and on paper the Chinese woman is a slight favourite. There is a meeting of two powerful middle peasants, so we can expect an approximately equal struggle.

It is important for tennis players to play to their strengths. I think such a match could be extended, so I predict the total over 20.5 matches will be 1.74.
