Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov finished his performance at the ATP 500 tournament in Washington (USA) at the second round stage.
Khachanov, seeded third, lost to world No. 175 Son Jong-Hun of South Korea with a score of 2:6, 4:6. The match lasted 1 hour and 12 minutes.
In the third round, the Korean tennis player will face American Alex Mickelsen (15th seed).

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina After winning the WTA tournament in Auckland, she shared an emotional post on social networks.
On her Instagram account, Svitolina posted a series of atmospheric photos from the field and the awards ceremony, where she posed with the trophy, as well as footage of match moments from the final match. The photo of the Ukrainian woman holding a symbolic black jersey cup with the inscription SVITOLINA on the back attracted particular attention.

“We will definitely remember this moment; we both won the same tournament,” Elina wrote, alluding to the family’s success and the emotional value of this victory.
The victory in Auckland was a major early-season turning point for Svitolina and boosted her confidence ahead of her performance at the Australian Open. Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina (WTA 178) reached the final qualifying round of the 2026 Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season.
The Ukrainian team was defeated in the second round of the election Anouk Koevermans (Netherlands, WTA 192) She took the wheel in the second match in 1 hour and 52 minutes.

Russian tennis player Anastasia Gasanova reached the final qualifying round of the Australian Open.
Hasanova beat the Lithuanian representative Justyna Mikulskite with a score of 6:7 (4:7), 6:2, 6:0.
The Russian’s opponent in the match for access to the main draw will be Turkish Zeynep Sönmez.
In another match of the second round of qualifying, another representative of Russia, Tatyana Prozorova, lost to Spain’s Guiomar Maristani Zuleta with a score of 2:6, 6:2, 7:6 (10:7).
The Australian Open main draw matches start on January 18.
