Itia asked tennis players to take a shower in the presence of the accompanying
The International Agency for Establishing Honesty (ITIA) asked athletes caused by doping control to accept shower in the presence of the accompanying person.
The organization warned that non -compliance with the requirement would be perceived extremely seriously.
– ITIA and earlier the International Tennis Federation made a lot of efforts to make sure that the shower after the match can be permissible delayed doping control, especially if the abandonment of the shower can adversely affect the player’s health and well -being. However, the adoption of the soul is not an obligatory right. It is for this reason that Itia convincingly asks that during the adoption of the shower, the players follow the demand to always remain completely in the field of view of the accompanying person.
If the player is uncomfortable to be under observation during the adoption of the shower, we would suggest considering the issue of the need to take a shower before passing the sample for doping control. Four Ukrainian tennis players were included in the doubles entry list Australian Open 2025.
Ukrainian women will play in the doubles tournament on the courts of Melbourne: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Lyudmila Kichenok and Nadezhda Kichenok. Unfortunately, there will be no all-Ukrainian tandem in Australia.
Kostyuk will perform alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse at the Aus Open, and Yastremskaya will play alongside Alisha Parks.
Lyudmila and Nadezhda will not play together at AO-2026, although they will start the season with the same duet in the Brisbane 500 meters. It was announced that Lyudmila will be with Katie Volynets, and Nadezhda will be with Makoto Ninomiya.
Australian Open 2026 will take place from January 12 to February 1. Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya and Alexandra Oleynikova will represent Ukraine in singles. Yulia Starodubtseva, Angelina Kalinina, Daria Snigur and Vitaly Sachko will perform in the eliminations.
