Tsitsipas approached Zverev, Djokovic remains in 1st place

Daniel Medvedev managed to close the gap even further than Novak Djokovic who remains in 1st place. Tsitsipas approached Zverev.

Daniel Medvedev failed to win the 2nd Grand Slam series and 1st Australian Open of his career knowing the loss to Rafa Nadal in last Sunday’s epic final (30/1) which resulted in his not appearing 1st place in the world rankings.

However, what the Russian managed to do was further close the gap on Novak Djokovic to 890 points, with the renewed ATP list finding him 2nd with 10,125 points while Djokovic has 11,015 points.

The Serb may have stayed at the top of the list for 358 weeks, but that could change as Djokovic is set to lose the 2,000 points he won at last year’s Australian Open on 2/22. won, which were recalled in February due to a pandemic.

At No. 3 is Alexander Zverev, now under threat from Stefanos Tsitsipas who has narrowed the gap to the German player to 610 points, while Melbourne triumphant Rafa Nadal sits at world No. 5, just 295 points away from the 23-year-old Greek tennis player.

The only change in the top-10 after the 1st Grand Slam of this season came from Matteo Beretini, who moved up one place with his participation in the Australian Open semi-finals and is now 6th, while Andrei Rublev has fallen to 7th . Completing this week’s top 10 are Casper Rudd, Felix Ozer Aliasim and Yannick Sinner.

In the 1st 20 we had significant rises from Gael Monfis and Pablo Karenio Busta, with both players winning by 4 places, while from the 20th came Roger Federer for the first time in 21 years, now at 30th place.
