Serbia is the world champion in women’s volleyball, beating Brazil 3-0

With a magical performance from Boskovic, Serbia won 3-0 sets against Brazil to win the Women’s Volleyball World Cup.

Serbia beat Brazil 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-17) and won the world championship title for the second time in a row.

In the first set, Brazil started better and reached 7-10, but with Popovic’s serves, Serbia turned the tables and with Dritsa spreading the game everywhere, they now had the upper hand. Boskovic got just 9 attacks in the first set, as many as Busa, while Lozo had 8, the last one making the 24-24 (from 24-22) with a layup, but a Boskovic attack and a Gabi layup the last 26 -24

The same picture in the second set, where Brazil’s 6-9 became 10-11, while Ze Roberto’s team again swept away 13-16 thanks to an outside attack from Boskovic and a diagonal block from Serva. But there, Stevanovic’s serve and Boskovic’s awakening (of 6/9 in Set 1, 15/27 overall in Set 2) delivered a 7-0 run to 20-16, which was matched by another block from Boskovic to 21-20 and 22:22 was made with Tainara’s terrible ace. Brazil had come back, but Tainara went from good to fatal when she scored when the score was 23-22, and the set ended immediately after Stevanovic’s third block of the game.

Serbia was now the absolute dominant in the game and whatever Ze Roberto did was unable to change the flow of the game.

The fast 6-3 became a 12-7 and 12-8 brought the brace (16-8), whereby Santarelli celebrated stronger than his gymnasts and in Boskovic’s last attack the final 25-17 was fatal.
