Panathinaikos – Olympiacos 3-2: Big surprise of 0-2 for the greens in a big game in Marousi

Olympiacos led 2-0 but Panathinaikos managed to turn the tide against them and win 3-2 in a satisfying derby.

The derby of the first century of the year was an entertaining twist filled with spectacle. Olympiacos took a 2-0 lead but Panathinaikos turned the tables and won 3-2 sets.

The Greens started the game with problems in reception and in terms of efficiency in attack. But little by little they appeared and managed to achieve the big surprise.

Panathinaikos returned to full form for the first time in a long time after Zisis recovered from injury. At the same time, Kovar increased his performance from the halfway point of the game and proved decisive.

Andreas Fragos, who did a lot of work on the course, was consistently good throughout the game, while Andreopoulos, in general, all greens performed well from the third set onwards.

On the other hand, Olympiacos had to fill the position of libero with Dalakouras, since Gara (he had an operation) and Tziavras could not compete due to a sprain.

Giuliani saw Hidalgo consistently well throughout the game, Pagenk was instrumental in helping with serves and blocks while Stern soared from point to point.

Given the data, the two teams have room for improvement and are expected to give us great fights in Greece but probably also in Europe where they meet in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup.

It should be noted that there was a little tension at the end of the game, which ended with the immediate intervention of the Panathinaikos people.

The match: Olympiacos was the one who got away first in the score thanks to Pagenk’s serve for +3, which shortly afterwards became +5 for 11-16. He maintained this until 16-21. There Panathinaikos countered and was reduced to two (21-23), but Hidalgo finished a difficult attack 21-24, ending the set at 22-25 in Olympiakos’ favour.

The second set was dramatically underway. Panathinaikos was the one who came into play better this time and managed to build a two-point lead as Olympiacos managed to equalize the set (12-12).

The Reds and Whites then managed to build a difference on their serves to walk away with four 17-21 with Stern’s ace. Andreopoulos’ players with Frankos’ serves went 7-1 to take a 24-22 lead.

Frankos’ run of good serves ended at 24-23. But then Pagenk and Koumendakis spoke, the Slovenian spoiled the reception with his serve, Koumendakis made two big blocks to Hernandez to end the set with Kovar’s attack to 24:26 and 0:2 for Olympiakos.

In the third set, Panathinaikos took the lead from the start. Olympiacos, on the other hand, tried to hold on at two different points, reducing to two points, but this time the greens didn’t let up and made it 1-2 at 25-22.

Panathinaikos managed the reversal in the fourth, which he failed to complete in the second set. Olympiacos got away with two points early on, but the Greens equalized the set 8-8. The Reds and Whites again got away with three and maintained a two-point lead to 17-19.

There the counterattack of Panathinaikos began. The greens took the lead with a partial 3:0 and then we fought a point battle up to 22:22. At this point, Kovar and Hernandez spoke for the shamrock and made it 25-22, sending the match into a tiebreaker.

In the tie-break, Panathinaikos managed to build a difference from the start of the game, which he maintained until the final, achieving the big upset.

A great win for Athlos in Kifissia

A real performance by Athlos Orestiada in Match 1 of Volley League Game 6. The team from Evros defeated Kifissia 3-2 sets in Zirinio despite losing sets 1-0 with serve as a weapon and protagonists of Kasambali, Kai De Pra, Gladstone and Algoul (unmatched by the others) and hit their first win in the history of the volleyball league.

The game was sensational, with score changes and Athlos was acknowledged for his persistence on serve, good defense and effective counter-attacks. Athlos gave the 4th tiebreak in 6 games in Volley League and took 5 points on the scoreboard.

Kifisia played with Roussopoulos as the main passer instead of Kostas Stivachtis, but the problem was poor reception. Also in the 4th set, Okosanovic left with back pain and Papadopoulos was followed diagonally. Despite block control, Kifisia put pressure on the serve, had “black holes” in reception and few solutions in attack.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane

The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.

The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.

“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”

I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.

I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.

The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
