Men’s Volleyball League: Back on track for PAOK, Pegasus set 3-0 imposed

PAOK prevailed 3-0 in a set against Pegasos in Polichni to remain within three points adrift of the top of the Men’s Volley League.

PAOK continued their Men’s Volley League commitments in Day 10 with a 3-0 win over Pegasus Polichnis.

PAOK started the match strong, but Pegasos quickly managed to level the set at 9-9. From there, Milenkoski’s players managed to create a gap that widened as the set progressed, going 17-25 to 0-1.

In the second set, the picture was similar. Both teams went hand in hand until the score was 9-9. At this point, PAOK started on a 9-2 run to put themselves ahead 18-11 and then finished the set 25-20.

With absolute seriousness and aiming to finish the game without glitches, PAOK went strong, with good function in block and high percentage in attack, going 3-7 into the third set. Dikefalos with pressure in the shot from Pegasus gave the visitors a hard time and combined with Walsh’s mature game they kept widening the gap to 14-18.

Nothing changed in the image of the game, PAOK continued to play at high speed and won the game 0:3.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane

The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.

The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.

“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”

I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.

I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.

The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.

Lokomotiv volleyball players beat MSTU in a Russian championship match

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Moscow MSTU in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.

The meeting in Moscow ended with a score of 3–2 (25:21, 20:25, 25:23, 23:25, 15:10) in favor of the guests.

Lokomotiv scored 44 points and ranks second in the Super League standings, MSTU (6 points) is 16th.

St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated “Nova” from Novokuybyshevsk in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Volleyball Championship.
