Women’s Volley League: They continued with victories before the derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos
Panathinaikos prevailed 3-1 against AEK and Olympiakos 3-0 against Aris for the Women’s Volley League a week before the derby between them.
Once again Panathinaikos and AEK offered the volleyball friends a big derby, which was evaluated extensively.
The greens prevailed 3-1 sets and increased their performance in service and taking after the second set, with Konstantinos’ cross proving crucial.
As in the previous two games between the two teams, the first two sets were full of surprises. In the first, AEK played better and led the final by three points 18-21, but Panathinaikos caused the upset and won the set 25-22.
The image at the beginning of the second set was inversely proportional. Panathinaikos came into play better, but AEK turned the scene on its head and made it 1-1 in the sets at 20-25.
From then on the greens were better in the match. Armed with service, Konstantinou is instrumental in receiving and attacking and the block goes up Panathinaikos won the next two sets 25-21 and 25-16.

Olympiakos was the team that broke Aris’ unbeaten streak in the first round, Olympiakos is the team that stopped the Yellow and Blacks’ undefeated home team.
The Red-Whites continued their own unbeaten streak that allows them to remain in position and temporarily reduce their gap to PAO to three points while Aris awaits the results of PAOK (plays in Porphyras) and AEK (to home) to learn PAO).
In the opener, Olympiacos extended a difference early (6-9, 8-12) to go 13-21. Aris approached 16-21 and 18-22 (Kioutsiouki block in Agost, but he couldn’t get any further than Christodoulou ended the set with two attacks.
Aris led 4-2 at the start of the fourth set, losing a counterattack for +3, with Olympiakos continuing the pressure of serve and a streak going from 1-7 for 5-9 and a little later the 8-10 became 8-14. The Red-Whites easily reached the 12-20, Aris reduced towards the end like in the first set (15-20, 20-24).
The home side tried to get back into the game in the third set and 7-10 became 11-10 while Swan’s back-to-back aces made it 14-11. Aris managed to hold the +2 to 21-19 but there Giota’s serve put Olympiakos up to 21-23 to end the set and the match with Mercado’s lost serve at 23-25.

Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time
Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” reached the final of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup
Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv became the first finalist of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup
Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Dynamo Moscow in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).
In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.
The final match will take place on December 26.
