Women’s Volleyball League: Qualifying lead for PAOK, Panathinaikos and Olympiakos
PAOK, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos have taken the first of two steps to qualify for the semi-finals of the Women’s Volleyball League.

PAOK also started the third set impressively but this time it continued at the same pace as they led 0-4 and at 4-8 Terzoglou’s serve created a big problem for Aris as the result slipped away at 4-15 and PAOK easily made the 1-2.
Aris’ response came in the fourth set where the Yellows went 6-2 early and kept the difference. PAOK came close to 19-18 and had a chance to equalize but lost the counterattack and got a new run to 23-18 with Aris leveling the game 2-2.
At the tiebreak, PAOK started better again as 2-2 became 2-5 and the two teams traded places at 4-8. Aris came close to 2 (6-8), but Betseva’s out brought Dikephalos up to +4 (8-12) again, with Krol finishing the game 11-15.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
