Finikas – Olympiakos 1-3: Huge brace for the Reds and Whites in Syros
Olympiacos put in a terrifying performance to defeat Finikas 3-1 in Syros to pull off a resounding three point that could play a big part in the championship fight.
Olympiakos scored a very important three-pointer in Syros after Finikas prevailed 3-0 for the 6th game of the second phase of the men’s volleyball league.
The red and white were superior except for a few performance gaps and managed to achieve a great victory under enormous pressure from the serve.
The game: The first movement comes from Giuliani’s dreams for Olympiakos. The red and white did everything perfectly. They pressed their service, breaking Finikas’ handset while keeping theirs.
All of this helped Olympiakos make a difference from a young age as Stivachtis could divide the game at will while at the same time the Red-Whites’ defensive blocking was excellent. Somehow 25-16 came out quite normal.
In the second set we had a battle between the two teams, with Finikas Syros improving but Olympiakos having the solutions in the end. The red-whites took the lead by three (14:17), but the Syrians reacted immediately and took the set with a partial 3:0 draw.
New 3:0 from Olympiakos to 19:22, but again Finikas made it to 22:22. At this point, however, Peric spoke. The Serb with a terribly difficult attack and an ace put Olympiakos in power while Migailovic finished the set 25-23
We fought most of the third set point by point but this time it was the hosts who smiled. Finikas ONEX managed to run from 21-21 and then partially 4-1 to win the set 25-22 and reduce it to 2-1.
In the fourth set, Finikas stepped in with his foot pressed on the accelerator and led 5:0 and 9:3. At this point, the Red-Whites managed to close the gap and get closer to the point (9-8) with Andreadis’ serve.
Finikas responded with a 4-0 of their own to lead 13-8, but from then on Olympiakos managed a terrible upset. The Red-Whites in the rest of the set ran 17-6 to earn the conquest 25-19 and together in a great three points.
