In the first set, PAOK fell short of a 1-0 score for the first and last time, going down to 1-5, with the black and white paying for their mistakes at 8-9, quickly becoming 8-12 (with consecutive blocks) without ever being able to approach the Union (15-23, 17-25).
Conversely, the beginning of the second set was similar, where AEK pushed from the service line and turned from 7:5 to 11:5 to come to 16:9 with continuous errors by the guests. PAOK responded at 20-15 with Polynopoulou in service as they reduced to 20-18 and an ace from Kojiar got close to the point (22-21), but an attack from Terel and an ace from Lindsay took it to 25- 22 for 1 – 1.
In the third set, PAOK started better, but at 7-9 Kosma’s serve brought ups and downs, with AEK leading a 6-0 series for 13-9 that took two blocks from PAOK (with the Kyparissi taking the place) to 13- 11 was by Merteki). However, at 15-12, AEK led a new series at +7 (20-13) and easily reached 2-1.
Costas Arseniadis’ team, which now has a different psychology, started impressively, from that point onwards reaching 9-3 with PAOK very quickly and then playing without any of their three foreigners. The Black and Whites reduced to 11-8, but, like in the previous set, quickly lost touch with the score (16-9), allowing AEK to easily reach the 25-17 final score.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
