Former coach of Lokomotiv JVK: “Many players do not understand that there are simply no better conditions than in Russia”

Former coach of the Lokomotiv women’s volleyball club Radoslav Arsov compared the level of the Russian championship with European leagues, noting that the outflow of players has somewhat weakened the super league.
Russian clubs have been suspended from participating in European competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
— The Russian championship is very, very difficult, difficult and long. You have to fight all the time, you can’t relax even for one game. Honestly, I was very surprised, and I still don’t understand why many girls are now being deceived into going to play somewhere in Europe. And they don’t understand that there are simply no better conditions than in Russia. Only if you don’t get into the top five or six teams in Turkey or Italy. And in Russia there is everything. We counted that 40 Russian volleyball players play abroad. There is no such thing in men’s volleyball; as long as no one leaves, everyone stays here. And that’s why the level of the women’s super league has dropped a little,” the Championship quotes Arsov as saying.

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).
In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.
The final match will take place on December 26.
