The total amount made available for all national teams (30% of the €31 million advance payment for amateur sport) will be distributed according to the following criteria:
- 80% in the Olympic federations

Specifically for the national teams of the Olympic Associations for football (EPO), basketball (EEC), handball (OHE), volleyball (EOPE) and swimming (KOE), the amount increases accordingly by 10%.

Funding for national teams in Olympic sports federations and sports federations for the disabled may not exceed the regular subsidy they receive from the Department of Sport or the total amount these federations spend on their national teams, as indicated in the GGA financial data.
For non-Olympic sports federations, current funding cannot exceed seven times the regular grant they receive from the Department of Sport or the total amount they spend on their national teams, according to financial data submitted to GGA.
If the amount resulting from the above allocation criteria exceeds the set limits for a federation, the excess amount will be distributed to the other federations based on sporting priorities, provided that the final amounts for each federation do not exceed the limits.
Deputy Sport Minister Lefteris Avgenakis stressed: “We take care of the basis of our sport construction, amateur sport, every day and in every way. Trust your children legally unions.
We dared as a government and instituted permanent, annual and equal support for all sports, professionals and amateurs, from taxing bettors’ winnings to grant a fair wish of many years. And once again I would like to sincerely thank Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and all colleagues in the finance staff.
From the 31 million equivalent to the advance payment in amateur sport, the time has come for all our national teams. Most associations responded promptly to the information they requested and for the first time will be transparently supported with a total amount of over 9 million euros in addition to their regular grant.
For the support of international athletes, for an even more intense development of any sport, regardless of popularity.
In order for our National Missions to elevate Greece even higher in the international competitions, it will become global”.
