Olympic volleyball champion Oleg Moliboga dies

Oleg Moliboga, Olympic champion of the 1980 Games in volleyball, has died at the age of 69, according to the website of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VVF).
It is noted that the specialist struggled with a severe and prolonged illness.
– Domestic volleyball suffered a heavy loss. The outstanding player of CSKA and the USSR national team, the champion and silver medalist of the Olympic Games, the two-time world champion and the owner of the World Cup, the four-time European champion, the multiple champion of the USSR and the owner of the European Champions Cup, the champion of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, has died, – the press service of the VFV says .
Moliboga also coached the USSR men’s team and the Russian national team. Under his leadership, CSKA Moscow won the Russian Championship three times and won the Cup of the country.

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.
