The Thessaloniki team’s two-meter extreme has passed the stadiums of Russia, France and Italy in the past and is expected to provide valuable assistance to the biceps team.
PAOK’s announcement in detail:
“PAOK and the Men’s Volleyball Division announce the commencement of a collaboration with athlete Ryley Barnes for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.
Ryley Barnes, born in Canada on October 11, 1993, competes as an extreme athlete and is 200 cm tall.
He began his career in the 2011/2012 season at the University of Alberta, where he stayed until the 2015/16 season, where he graduated. He’s had great performances himself, taking his varsity to the top of the college championship twice in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. In fact, he coexisted with this year’s Canadian PAOK passer Brett Walsh at the University of Alberta.
The 2016-17 season found him on tour duty in France. In his first year in Europe, Ryley Barnes managed to add another title, that of the CEV Cup, beating Trentino 15-13 in the “golden” set.
The 2017/18 season found him again in Europe, this time in Russia, in the Ural-Ufa jersey, with which he made great performances, giving him the “ticket” to one of the best championships of the “Old Of Epirus”.
Thus, the next season found him in the Italian championship on behalf of Padua, with which he reached the playoffs of the championship and in which he stayed another season but “marked” by the pandemic.
International with the national team of Canada, participating in both the Pan American Games and pre-Olympic tournaments.
At the beginning of his collaboration with PAOK, Ryley Barnes stated on the association’s official website, acpaok.gr:
“I am very happy to join PAOK, a team with a long history that I have heard very kind words about the team and the fans. I want to thank the management and the coach for believing in me. The team has high goals, which in turn I want to contribute the most in order to achieve them”.
Welcome Ryley!”
