Women’s Olympic Volleyball: US winger Julie Winters announced

The first foreign athlete for the new season was announced by the Olympiacos women’s volleyball team, which recruited American winger Julie Winters.

America’s winger Jali Winters, 25, has been announced by Olympiacos in women’s volleyball, who continue to build their roster ahead of the new season. The 1.90 tall athlete is the first transfer of a foreign athlete for the red-white team this season after Tsitsigianni, Hatzigirgoriou and Antonakakis.

Last season, Winters competed in Cannes and won the French Cup. This year he will try to achieve all the goals set by the Olympiakos team.

“OLYMPIC SFP announces the start of its partnership with Julie Winters. The American extreme athlete (born 7/26/1997, height 1.90 m) has signed her new contract and joins the team’s women’s volleyball club.

Last season (2021-22), Julie Winters competed in Cannes and won the French Cup. From 2019 to 2021 he played volleyball for Saint-Raphaël Var from France, with whom he won the Super Cup (2019-20), while in 2018-19 he wore Fachadas Dimurol Libby’s shirt, winning two titles in Spain Cup and the Super Cup . She began her career at Creighton University in 2015 and won four Big East Conference trophies through 2019 (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). In 2019, Winters was named the East Coast College League MVP and Best Winger.

“I am very happy to play for a team with such a rich history in Greece. I’ve heard so many good things about Olympiakos and I’m looking forward to joining the club. Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).

Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.

For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.

In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.

The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Dynamo Moscow in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).

In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.

The final match will take place on December 26.
