Cyprus 0-3 Greece: Unstoppable in qualifying, the national team won 4/4
The men’s national volleyball team won a 3-0 set against Cyprus in Nicosia to secure 4th/4th place. place in the European Championship qualification.
The men’s national volleyball team continues to impress in European Championship qualifiers after beating Cyprus 3-0 in a set in Nicosia and winning 4/4.
The blue and white got what they wanted from the match, namely the clear three points and without losing a set. All this four days before the decisive game against Croatia in Osijek, which will determine the first place in the group.
As for today’s game (terrible performance by Thodoris Voulkidis who was top scorer) basically all the money was in the first set where the Greek team almost fell victim to a big upset.
The opening 4-4 draw turned into a 4-9, with the Cypriots reducing to 9-12, but the Greeks again came away 10-17 and were in full control of the game.
From that point onwards the Cypriots’ serve caused some problems with the score at 13:17 and at 19:22 it was an ebb and flow with Cyprus approaching the point (21:22) and through a block by Stukarevic and evened out dating Giumaka.
But he evened it out to 23-23 to follow a big period where we pulled out some terrible defenses and went blue with Siapani’s mistakes to end the set with Giumaka’s ace.
In the next two sets, the Greek team showed more patience, managed the big differences very correctly and confidently reached the 3:0 in the final.

A doctor from the Yenisei volleyball club provided emergency assistance to a child on board the plane
The doctor of the men’s volleyball club “Yenisei” from Krasnoyarsk, Shakhriyar Mirzoev, provided emergency assistance to the boy on board the plane.
The incident happened during the New Year holidays on the Kazan-Krasnoyarsk flight. The specialist noticed that the man and child were in the toilet for 20 minutes, and the flight attendant came in there periodically.
“I approached and saw that a boy of about nine was standing at the sink filled with water and blood. At that moment, the flight attendant began to ask if there was a doctor on board, to which I replied: “I’m a doctor, I’ll help now.”
I tried to stop the bleeding using cotton wool and improvised means that the conductors had, applying cold to the bridge of the nose. But this had no effect – everything was soaked in blood. The bleeding did not stop for about 20 minutes.
I tried to calm the child down and began to think about what to do next. I asked the flight attendants for a first aid kit and found ampoules of adrenaline there. Having opened two ampoules, I soaked two cotton pads with the solution and inserted them deep into the child’s nose. After a couple of minutes, I saw that the blood had stopped,” AiF Krasnoyarsk quotes Mirzoev as saying.
The child came to his senses. As it turned out, the boy had undergone surgery to remove his adenoids the day before, which probably caused the bleeding.
