Greece 3-0 Norway: Fiesta of qualification for the final of the European Championships with a comfortable victory for the national men’s volleyball
The national volleyball team beat Norway 3-0 in sets in a game that had the character of a fiesta for qualifying for the finals of the European Championship.
The men’s national team made it 6×6 into the European Championship qualifying group, officially stamped the Eurovolley 2023 ticket and witnessed the apotheosis in front of more than 2,500 spectators, who were also present in Glyfada today.
“I hope that the stadium will be full again this time to applaud the children who have worked hard all summer to achieve and secure qualification,” said Dante Bonifande yesterday and the Italian’s wish went with them Fulfilling spectators who make Glyfada a real home again by applauding the team.
The federation coach opted to start the game with players who hadn’t played much time in previous games, with 27-year-old Kasambalis being the oldest, but it was the (also young) Norwegians who controlled the entire first set .
In fact, they led twice by 4 points (5-9, 16-20), with the national team finding a reaction, approaching 19-20 (with a good serve from Kasambalis) and equalizing it 21-21 with an out by Ekeland and Pass for the first time in the score at 25-24 (Haka Block) to follow 26-24 against Chandrinos.
Victory in the first set set the Greek players free and with the crowd continuing to set the pace, the second set was a different story.
With good service from the start, we escaped 8-4 to double points (14-7) with a steadily increasing difference (16-7, 18-8) to easily come to 2-0 with 25-17.
Even more impressive was the start of the third set when Greece made it 5-0 and Norway just tried to close the gap but without much success (11-7, 17-10, 19-12) to get a comfortable 25-18 reach the beginning of the celebrations of audience and team.
