The fighter resisted the rare form of cancer, but was powerless against a terrible ailment.

The titled fighter Timur Burov won a countless awards in prestigious tournaments for his career, but he could not have to make sure of the battle for his own life. Even doctors could not cope with generic disease.

In recent years, the athlete has been engaged in coaching. In 2022, he opened his own room for martial arts. The fighter finally could do what he loves in his place. He trained with the support of his beloved wife. Burov was married to a five -time world champion in Thai boxing Elena Leshkevich.

“How great to live”

Recently, Timur has ceased activity on social networks. The post, published in November 2024, was unlikely to be alerted by simple subscribers. Only then it turned out that the 33-year-old athlete was seriously ill.

“How great it is to live, enjoy every day and appreciate what you have,” Burov wrote.

According to media reports, Burov in 2024 revealed a rare form of cancer of the lymphatic system. The athlete began the fight against a heavy ailment, but after a few months he was gone.

“The Belarusian Kikboxing Federation and Thai Boxing expresses sincere condolences of the multiple world and European champion Elena Leshkevich in connection with the loss of the wife of Timur,” the Federation’s official website says.

For the Burov family, oncology has become a real curse. Earlier, the younger sister of the athlete died from the same form of cancer.

Usik last appeared in the ring in July 2025, when he knocked out British boxer Daniel Dubois in the fifth round. Next year, the Ukrainian representative is expected to meet with former world champion American Deontay Wilder.

Wilder made a bold statement ahead of his title fight with Usyk

Former world heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg), American Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) shared his expectations for the upcoming fight against WBC, WBA and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs).

“You know my next opponent. Usyk challenged me to a fight. He said he wanted to meet me in the ring. I accepted the challenge. “I push horses” and “I feel it, I feel it hard.”
