The draw for the third and fourth stages of the Greek Cup

The draw of the third and fourth stages of the Greek Cup produced quite interesting duels. From the third phase, the games Niki Volos – Herakles, Apollon Smyrna – Kifisia and Aegaleo – Panserraikos stand out.

The draw for the third and fourth rounds of the Greek Cup was completed at the EPO offices and the Super League 2 teams also entered this stage.

Among the third round pairings, the matches between Niki Volos and Heraklis, Apollo Smyrni with Kifisia and Aegaleos with Panserraikos stand out. In the third round, three teams will win the qualifiers through the fourth without a match (one of them is Thesprotos), while 17 teams will win the qualifiers by matches.

From the fourth round, eight teams advance to the fifth round without a match and six teams through matches. Super League teams other than Olympiakos, PAOK, Ari and Panathinaikos enter the fifth round.

The EPO congratulated Argyris Katsini, whose intervention saved the life of a footballer in the Ellopiakos – Atromitos Piraeus match in the 3rd National League.

The referee of the Ellopiakos – Atromitos Piraeus match and the doctors managed to save the life of a football player in a national C team match. In its announcement, the EPA congratulated Argyris Katsikis for its rapid and life-saving assistance.

The EPA announcement in detail:

“EPO and KED/EPO congratulate referee Argyris Katsini of EPS Eastern Attica, whose timely intervention saved the life of a footballer in the Ellopiakos – Atromitos Piraeus match on the 2nd matchday of the 4th group of the 3rd National Championship.

The referee in charge noticed the serious injury of a football player in time and immediately rushed to help, which saved the player’s life. This incident shows the human side of the referee officials, but also their training and makes us all proud. KED will reward the referee in the near future.”

A referee and doctors saved the life of a soccer player in a 3rd National League game

The referee of the Ellopiakos – Atromitos Piraeus match and the doctors managed to save the life of a football player in a national C team match.

A shocking incident marked the game between Ellopiakou and Atromitos Piraeus for the 3rd National League. It wasn’t until the 3rd minute that there was an aerial duel between Achemastos and Goga.

This caused the former to collapse on the pitch. Immediately, the match referee, Argyris Katsinis, rushed to put his tongue back in the correct position while the doctors who were on the field rushed to the scene.

This led to the footballer regaining consciousness and being taken to hospital for the necessary medical examinations.

The great return of Manousos to the team that promoted him, he signed with Aeolikos

Giorgos Manousos is officially a player of Aeolikos, 15 years after leaving the Lesvos team, ending a very important career in the big leagues.

Giorgos Manousos is officially an Aeolik player. Fifteen years after his departure, the 35-year-old striker returned to Mytilini and the team that promoted him. With her jersey she played 71 times and scored 11 goals in the 3rd National Championship and the Greek Cup in the three years 2005-2008.

The announcement in detail:

“PAE Aeolikos is very pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with football player Giorgos Manousos!

The 35-year-old (born March 12, 1987) Mytilini striker returns home after 15 years and an impressive career in Greek football with more than 470 appearances and 110 goals in domestic divisions and European competitions.

Manousos began his professional career at Aeolikos, where he took part in 71 games in the 3rd National League and the Greek Cup in the three years 2005-2008, scoring 11 goals.

Then, in the summer of 2008, he was transferred to OFI, with whom he played in 14 games in the First National League and 24 games in the Second National League and the Greek Cup, scoring 6 goals. He returned to Lesbos in 2011 for AELK and played a total of 170 games and 40 goals in the Football League (2011–13) and Super League (2013–16).

He played continuously in the Super League for a decade and also wore the jerseys of Platanias (2016-17, 30 games – 9 goals) and Atromitos (2017-21, 97 games – 32 goals), with whom he also played in 6 European Championships League games with 4 goals and Lamia (2021-23, 60 games – 9 goals).
