“We jumped to conclusions.” The SBR named the real reasons for postponing the men’s individual race at the Russian Cup stage in Tyumen
Executive Director of the Russian Biathlon Union (SBR) Alexander Pak said on Match TV that the men’s individual race at the second stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Biathlon Cup in Tyumen was not postponed due to a power failure.
The race will take place on December 12, starting at 10:00 Moscow time. The competition was originally scheduled for Thursday, December 11th. Earlier, the press service of the SBR reported that the race was postponed due to an accident in the electrical network supplying the lighting of the Pearl of Siberia complex.
— Before all competitions we conduct TV tests. And we determined that the lighting on the track, unfortunately, is not enough for a high-quality TV broadcast. Therefore, we decided to postpone the start date. So that athletes can run in comfortable conditions, so that TV viewers can see a high-quality picture.
– Are we talking about an accident? Technical solution?
– Yes, at first we rushed to the conclusion. There is no accident,” Pak said on Match TV.
