Investigative bodies of the Eastern MSUT of the IC of Russia published photos from the crash site of a Robinson helicopter in Kamchatka, flown by former Russian biathlete Igor Malinovsky.

The helicopter took off on July 16 along the route Milkovo – Valley of Geysers – Uzon Volcano Caldera. After that, the crew stopped communicating. On Sunday, the vehicle was found burnt by Kamchatka rescuers. The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed that no one survived. Malinovsky was 25 years old.

During his career, Malinovsky became a five-time world champion among juniors.

    The International Biathlon Union (IBU) is organizing a farewell ceremony for Siewert Bakken before the sprint race at the World Cup in Oberhof, NRK reports, citing the IBU.

    The race will begin with a minute of silence in memory of the athlete, and the Norwegian team will start wearing mourning armbands. The IBU also confirmed that Bakken will be assigned the first number in the race. Thus, biathlete number two will be the first to start.

    The death of 27-year-old Bakken became known on December 23. The Norwegian Biathlon Association said the athlete was wearing a hypoxic mask when his body was found in a hotel room in Italy.

    The sprint race in Oberhof will take place on January 8th.
