Kalchik Kamnik – Olympiacos 1-3: Qualifying step for the Red-Whites under the last 16 of the CEV Cup
Olympiacos defeated Kalcik Kamnik 3-1 in Slovenia and made a move to qualify for the top 16 teams of the CEV Women’s Cup.
A great 3-1 set win in Slovenia against Kalcik Kamnik was celebrated by Olympiacos, who are now the big favorites to qualify for the top 16 teams of the CEV Cup Women.
The trio of Salas, Winters and Koumboura led Olympiakos on offense who, despite making 29 errors, made nine more for his opponent while falling 12-4 in the block part.
In the repetition on Tuesday, 20.12. (20.00) at Melina Merkouris in Renti, Olympiacos needs two sets to get the ticket for the “16” of the tournament.
In the first set, after 10-10, Olympiacos escaped at +3 (10-13) and gradually managed to widen the difference with Vilma Salas to conquer it at 18-25.
We had the same scenario in the second set as in the first set, with the difference that this time Kamnik was the one who escaped after 9-9. The hosts had a solid reception and managed to level the game at 1-1 at 25-20.
In the third set, Olympiacos saved four set bowls from Kamnik (24-23, 25-24, 26-25, 27-26), Stella Christodoulou leveled the game 27-27, her team taking an ace lead ( 27-28) and in the next phase Kamnik’s winger Ana Vovk scored to make it 27-29 and the 1-2 set.
In the fourth set, the “Red-Whites” with psychology on their side took a five-point lead (7:12, 8:13), but Kamnik had yet to say the last word. At 10:14, the Slovenians were able to equalize with 14:14 and 16:16 and take the lead with a series of 19:16. However, Lorenzo Micelli’s athletes left the best for last, because with the score at 20:19, Salas equalized at 20:20 and with Winders’ serves, the “Red-Whites” made 20 with a 5-0 run: 25 for the last 1-3 sets.

Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time
Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.
For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” reached the final of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup
Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.
In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.
The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Dynamo Moscow in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.
