Olympiacos acquired Militsa Koumboura

Olympiacos announced the start of their collaboration with Serbian diagonal Militsa Koumboura. She said she was happy about the transfer.

Olympiakos women’s volleyball team continues to strengthen. The Red-Whites announced the start of their collaboration with Militsa Koumboura. In her statements, the Serbian obliquely expressed her enthusiasm for the new chapter in her career.

The announcement of Olympiakos in detail:

“OLYMPIACOS SFP announces the start of collaboration with Militsa Koumboura. Serva Diagonia (born 3/20/1995, height 1.94 m) has signed her new contract and joins the team’s women’s volleyball club.

Militsa Koumboura started her career at Red Star, with whom she became a two-time champion and Serbian Cup winner (2011-13). From 2014 to 2018 he played for Florida State University. After completing her studies in the USA in 2018, she returned to Serbia for Partizan.

In 2019-20 Koumboura moved to Germany, played in Dresden and won the German Cup, while in 2020-21 she played for PAOK and won the Greek Cup. In 2010 he wore the jersey of the Serbian U18 national team for the first time, with which he won the U18 World Championship in 2011, a year later he won the silver medal at the U20 European Championship. In 2019 she took part in the VNL (Volleyball Nations League) with the Serbian women’s national team.

Militsa Koumboura’s statement on olympiacossfp.gr:

“I’m really looking forward to next season and I think there’s no need to explain why. Olympiakos name speaks for itself, with its history and great achievements in all sports over the years. I can’t wait to meet my new team, I can’t wait to work with my teammates. I’ve also heard a lot about the incredible Olympiakos supporters. It’s a rare commodity in women’s sport, it takes the strength of the team to an even higher level.”

Volleyball players of Kazan “Zenith” won the Russian Super Cup for the 11th time

Kazan “Zenit” became the winner of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

On Friday, the Kazan team beat Lokomotiv from Novosibirsk – 3-1 (25:19, 25:17, 23:25, 25:21).

Zenit won the Russian Super Cup for the third year in a row. In total, the Kazan team has a record 11 victories in the tournament. Lokomotiv took part in the decisive matches for the trophy four times, but were defeated each time.

For the first time in history, the Russian Super Cup was held in the Final Four format. All meetings took place in St. Petersburg.

Kazan “Zenit” reached the final of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup

Kazan “Zenit” defeated “Zenith” from St. Petersburg in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3-2 (25:20, 25:17, 18:25, 23:25, 15:12) in favor of the Kazan team.

In the other semi-final earlier on Thursday, Lokomotiv Novosibirsk defeated Dynamo Moscow in four sets.

The final match between Lokomotiv and Zenit will take place on Friday, starting at 19:30 Moscow time.

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv became the first finalist of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup

Novosibirsk Lokomotiv defeated Dynamo Moscow in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Super Cup among men’s teams.

The meeting in St. Petersburg ended with a score of 3–1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:13, 30:28).

In the other semi-final, which will take place later on Thursday, St. Petersburg and Kazan Zenit will meet.

The final match will take place on December 26.
